Dairy Farmer Uwera Flora In Rwanda

Two truths and a why

Help our commitment to farmers reach new borders

Truth number one—we are big fans of farmers. So it probably won’t come as a surprise that we love the work that Land O’Lakes International Development is doing around the world.

Some of their projects focus on helping farmers think like businesspeople, and building their capacity to produce and deliver high quality milk. Other efforts provide training so that men and women understand how to make the most out of their harvest. And, just as important, are projects that make strategic investments in ag entrepreneurs – those individuals whose ideas bring jobs, innovation and more access to nutritious foods to their communities.

But, they don’t do these initiatives on their own. Projects are made possible with support from the U.S. government, foundations and partners. And from the Land O’Lakes Inc. side, we provide support to these initiatives by infusing nearly a century’s worth of ag co-op expertise in the pockets of our colleagues in International Development.

Together with its key partners, Land O’Lakes International Development is enabling farmers and ag enterprises to take their businesses to the next level—for the long haul.

Truth number two—this fan club is open. We’re excited to share that Land O’Lakes International Development is now a 501(c)(3) nonprofit accepting monetary support from your everyday do-gooder, family, friend or neighbor, all to extend its impact and support around the world.

Today, the Land O’Lakes International Development team is busy implementing programs in Kenya, Mozambique, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka, just to name a few. And with more supporters, they’ll be able to help more people in more places. You know what they say…mo’ money, mo pro-grams.…which leads us to the why.

The fact of the matter is, we are, and always have been, committed to helping farmers grow more and live better—here and around the world. Whether a Land O’Lakes member-owner is planting his fields in Pennsylvania, or a dairy farmer is milking her cows in rural Rwanda, we want to empower farmers to make the most out of their day.

You can take our word for it, or see for yourself the difference we can make together. Join us.
