Days of legislative advocacy at state capitols are an important way educate legislators on industry issues

Land O

Over the last year-plus, Land O’Lakes member-owners have been especially active in grassroots legislative advocacy at the federal level. Members have rallied in support tax policies that protect ag tax cuts. They’ve remained active in helping to shape the next Farm Bill.

And members participated once again in a Washington, D.C. fly-in, where they ensured that legislators understood growers’ views on issues of critical importance to agriculture. All this work has yielded tremendous results for our members and our industry.

But it’s important to remember that members need to be involved with state political advocacy as well. After all, state ag policy directs members just as much federal policy.

In the coming months, members will have the opportunity to have their state governments hear them loud and clear. At these events, members of state governments will be listening, we want them to hear our message. Land O’Lakes encourages members to participate in agricultural legislative advocacy days at their state capitols.

These gatherings are important opportunities to make sure your state lawmakers understand complex issues facing agriculture, and advocate for solutions that help producers. Please see the list below of upcoming events, and participate at your state capitol.
