Though all eyes were on Houston this past weekend, in 2018 the attention will shift to the Twin Cities as the community plays host to nearly one million visitors for Super Bowl LII. As one of the largest companies headquartered in the Twin Cities, Land O’Lakes is proud to be a founding sponsor for the Super Bowl Host Committee that’ll help give these visitors an opportunity to experience the bold north.
Chris Policinski, president and CEO, sits on the Minnesota Super Bowl Host Committee’s Advisory Board charged with helping make the Super Bowl experience a success for visitors, residents and businesses, and leaving a legacy of positive community and economic impact even after the game clock hits zero. Chris and other community leaders will provide guidance on decisions that make the Super Bowl a memorable experience.
For Land O’Lakes, this provides a great opportunity to further strengthen our brand among consumers and potential recruits, while sharing the real story of food and ag production to a very large audience that probably doesn’t have a lot of on-farm experience.
“The Super Bowl brings the world’s eyes to Minnesota and this gives us an unparalleled opportunity to showcase our 96-year-old cooperative,” said Maureen Brener, vice-president, Corporate Marketing. “Right now, we’re taking a look at how we can bring our farm to fork story to life for visitors, spectators and Twin Cities residents alike.”
In the meantime, we’ll be participating in events leading up to the Super Bowl over the next year. Beginning next week, the host committee will start their 52-week march toward the big game in 2018. We’ll keep you posted as specific events are scheduled but you can learn more about the Host Committee’s current activities and plans here.
